I booked Citigrass to play a private office party for The Economist Group. Sandy and his band came to our offices and turned a bland afternoon cocktail into an extremely memorable event. Our office has a number of individuals from overseas and from various parts of the country- everyone enjoyed the opportunity to hear the unique sounds of bluegrass and old time music. The musicians were approachable and professional, and people still recall the event with delight."

Their unique twist on bluegrass was a perfect stage-setter for an evening full of fun and a little different than the traditional, which was important to us. They even strolled with party goers to provide a lively, musical procession into the dinner tent. Citigrass played at my wedding in New York this summer, and were a marvelous addition to the event. They are a fantastic set of musicians, a lovely group of people, and true professionals who came early to help us figure out the best space for the band, moved around to accommodate the flow of the wedding, and braved intermittent showers to keep the music going. (Sandy even stepped up to help me move some furniture - although that is certainly not in the contract!) Some may be a bit skeptical of bluegrass at a wedding, but Citigrass provided a great backdrop throughout the event - acoustic background for the ceremony and dinner, and electric bluegrass for the reception, ranging from traditional bluegrass to Dylan, Cash and other rock classics, including an impromptu request or two. If you remain unconvinced, consider that our wedding was in a downtown Manhattan loft, and you should see that bluegrass can be ideal background in a variety of settings. To sum up, the most suitable tribute I could offer would probably be the great ovation Citigrass received from our guests, but that would be best witnessed in person!”

The FPCN School holds an annual fundraising event, attended by 150-200 people. It has been traditional to have live music at the event; for many years this was a jazz combo. In the spring of 2001, we had the delightful experience of bidding to the upbeat sounds of "Citigrass." The lively bluegrass music, performed by virtuoso musicians, gave the whole evening a boost and made everyone feel happy and eager to participate. It was not intrusive or loud—it was lively and engaging. The proceeds of that night exceeded those of any previous event. We would happily have Citigrass play at another school fundraiser; in fact, we are hoping to have them again this year."
